OF CRAZY PEOPLE AND 'THAT' JINX...

This was a crazy weekend! Am sure you would agree. Whatever you got up to am sure it was a total blast. Hey how are you doing today?

Today i was suppose to talk about loyalty. That one is massive. A good story for those who love stories. However that will have to be sometime this week because of events this past weekend. If i had to combine the two we would be here for centuries!

The start of my weekends always start in class. This is because i have early class on Saturday and a late class Friday night.  This  all but rules out a Friday night of parting for me. I don't mind one bit though. So after class i headed straight home. I had a business matter to attend to before going to watch Arsenal. This time however i was at the school hall for this match. I can assure you the atmosphere is crazy in there. Rowdy, loud, uncouth, all adjectives befitting of a description for that crowd.

Remember i told you i was to decide whether i wanted to use that phrase 'people of little faith again'? Well i did, quite skeptical at first. This time i was not to be denied by fate. We won, albeit by a whisker. I guess it doesn't matter though, after the past three games of losing this was a much needed respite.

Fast forward to Sunday. Derbies are crazy games. This is the only time in football when you see all types of 'illegal' action permitted by the ref. Flying tackles, diving, offside goals and no whistles. Its as if these matches are not officiated. I love the Mersey side derby. Its almost as is your guaranteed lots of action. This one between Liverpool and Everton was no different. Good game of football.

All this was however just a curtain raiser for what was to come. Chelsea verses man united. The hall was packed to the rafter. Chaps making noise and taunting each other. The game lived up to its billing. If you thought two good games in a row was a myth, think twice. This game was not ready to be overshadowed by the derby earlier.

It all started in frantic fashion. Man u making Santos seem better than Cole! The ref had other ideas however. His actions did not only cost Chelsea the game but almost threatened our well being. The ref decided to be trigger happy. These are matches you have to overlook some incidents. The red card for Ivanovic was justified. Soft yes, but a foul nonetheless. The rules demanded a red for such. Torres send off was harsh however, the ref should have overlooked what appeared to be a dive. Replays show there was minimal contact.

Chelsea should blame Suarez for putting refs on alert for divers. Its very hard to judge in such situation and therefore to overlook isn't too much to ask. Same with the offside goal. At the pace the game is played nowadays its permitted if the officials don't see it. They have two eyes just like us. Time for goal line technology.

The crowd in the hall went wild. Chairs flying all over. People were on blows. The security guards had to be deployed. Those guys are loco. Am lucky i got away unscratched. I think i will stick to the pub, especially with the weekend match pitting arsenal against man u looming.

Well in the course of this week i will write to you that story on loyalty. Keep it here. You wont believe which footballer blogged about the same this past week. Keep it here for that. I will give you the link to read what he had to say.

' A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.'
Good day good people.
